The story

Two anchorages you can only reach by sea

Catamaran Zephyr approaching the coast of Saint-Barth

This is the only trip that starts from Saint-Barth. You board at Gustavia in the late afternoon and we set a course for Île Fourchue — an uninhabited volcanic rock a few miles north-west whose horseshoe bay is one of the finest anchorages in the Caribbean.

Apéritif up front while the sun drops behind the ridges, dinner cooked on board, then a night at anchor in a bay with nothing in it: no road, no house, no light.

In the morning we drop down to Colombier Bay, which no road reaches either. Snorkelling, turtles, and back to Gustavia by 11 am — the afternoon is yours.

How it unfolds

How your nineteen hours on board unfold

All routes are subject to weather and sea conditions. Kharim always chooses the safest and most beautiful route available.

  1. Evening — from 4 pm, at Gustavia

  2. Boarding — Gustavia, 4 pm

We meet at Gustavia harbour on Saint-Barth — not at Grand-Case like our other trips. Bags in the cabin, briefing, and we cast off.

  3. Across to Île Fourchue

Under an hour's sail to the north-west. The island appears all at once: five bare hills around a horseshoe bay, and not a single building.

  4. Sunset, and dinner

The sun drops behind the ridges early inside the bay — that is what gives the anchorage its light. Apéritif up front, then dinner served on deck, with a bottle of wine.

  5. The night at anchor

Île Fourchue is uninhabited: no light ashore, no noise. A private cabin, hatch open, and a sky nothing washes out.

  6. Next morning — until 11 am

  7. Breakfast, and Colombier Bay

Breakfast at anchor, then a short hop to Colombier — a bay no road reaches, where you often swim with turtles.

  8. Back to Gustavia

A last swim, then back into the harbour by 11 am. You step off on Saint-Barth, where you got on.

The night that changes a stay on Saint-Barth

Île Fourchue, uninhabited

Five hills around a horseshoe bay, no buildings, no land access. One of the most photographed anchorages in the Caribbean, and one of the emptiest by evening.

Colombier first thing

The bay is reached on foot along a trail, or from the water. At 8 am the water is flat and the turtles are there.

A sky with no lights ashore

No village, no road, no lighting on Île Fourchue. That is what makes a night at anchor different from a night alongside.

The whole boat, for your group

The price covers 2 guests, up to 4 on board, and the boat sails for you alone.

100% private

The whole boat, your group, and nobody else.

Certified captain

Capitaine 200, CE category A vessel, zero incidents.

Tailor-made route

The route is decided with you, by the day's sea.

Owner crew

Kharim and Sophie live aboard. It is their home.

The questions we are asked

Questions about the night in Saint-Barth

Where exactly do we leave from?

From Gustavia on Saint-Barth — not from Grand-Case. It is the only one of our trips like that. So you need to be on the island: by ferry from Marigot or Oyster Pond, or by plane from Saint-Martin.

Is the price per person?

No. 2 280 € in low season is the whole boat with its crew and every meal aboard, for 2 guests. Each additional guest joins for 230 €, up to 2 additional guests.

Do we always sleep at Île Fourchue?

That is the planned anchorage and the finest one. But the bay is exposed when a north swell sets in: if so, Kharim picks Colombier or another shelter, and tells you before you leave.

Can we have dinner ashore in Gustavia?

Not on this trip: we leave the harbour in the late afternoon and dinner is cooked on board, at anchor. For an evening ashore, the two-day Saint-Martin – Saint-Barth cruise is the one that includes it.

Do we need a passport?

Saint-Barth and Saint-Martin are both French, and the trip stays in Saint-Barth waters. An ID card is enough — but do bring one, this is a sailing trip.
